Every Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday at lunch, the gym at Gerald R. Ford Academic Center becomes more than a place to play—it becomes a space to grow.
Through The Chosen Academy, our team works with 5th–8th grade student-athletes to help them build resilience, develop a growth mindset, and form a healthy identity.
On Tuesdays, student-athletes meet at the end of the school day school in the gym for speed and agility workouts that challenges them mentally and physically. Each session brings development in leadership, and character growth.
Wednesdays at lunch, we host Mid-Day Mindset—a relaxed group discussion where students reflect, recharge, and build a community with one another.
Each Wednesday lunchtime session explores themes like:
• Building Mental Toughness
• Handling Stress & Performance Anxiety
• Learning from Failure
• Developing Discipline & Direction
• Becoming a Better Teammate and Leader
Every athlete is seen, heard, and encouraged to be themselves. We remind them they are more than their stats, more than their mistakes, and more than the scoreboard.
The middle school years are where confidence is tested and identity starts to take shape.
We step in during this pivotal time to help young athletes find clarity, courage, and community. When they learn to push through challenges, believe in their potential, and take ownership of their mindset—they don’t just become better athletes.
They become stronger people.
Every student-athlete deserves a chance to be chosen—to know they matter and have what it takes to grow into the person they’re meant to be.
Together, we can help them turn pressure into purpose.
