Volunteer Job Description
Role Title: Support Volunteer
Reports to: Lead Volunteer and Program Director
Time Commitment: 2-3 hours/week
Location: Varies (school or community site locations)
Stipend: Unpaid, eligible for service hours or recommendation letters
Purpose:
Support Volunteers play a key support role in helping The Chosen Academy run effective, engaging programs for student-athletes. They contribute to a positive and encouraging environment by assisting with logistics, participation, and small group support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with check-in, materials, and room setup before sessions.
- Help facilitate games, icebreakers, and small group discussions.
- Engage authentically with student-athletes, building trust and rapport.
- Support lead facilitators and senior volunteers as needed.
- Encourage students during participation and serve as a positive role model.
- Observe and report any concerns or needs to senior volunteers or staff.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Friendly, dependable, and respectful.
- Enjoys working with teens and making an impact.
- Open to learning and taking direction.
- Previous volunteer or youth experience is a plus, but not required.
